Dingle Tidy Towns Committee have decided to bring Dingle Tidy Towns Committee have decided to bring forward their County Clean Up Day to Easter Monday to avoid clashing with the Ride Dingle Cycle event on Saturday April 15th.

Volunteers are requested to meet at the Bottle Bank at the Tracks at 11am and help collect litter along the main approach roads to the town.

Bags, gloves, high viz vests, and some pickers will be distributed and routes allocated to ensure most areas are covered on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Community Enhancement Programme: @kerrycountycounc Community Enhancement Programme: @kerrycountycouncil 

The Department of Rural and Community Development funds the Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) which provides funding to support community groups across Ireland.
 
The Community Enhancement Programme will support community groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas with their non-pay running and operating costs. Groups will also be able to use the funding to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities and to purchase equipment. Some examples are as follows:

-> Electricity, refuse, heating. 

-> Rent/lease costs and insurance bills.

-> Necessary repairs/improvements to facilities, purchase of equipment such as tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies and training equipment (this is a non-exhaustive list of projects that could receive funding).

Calling all not-for-profit clubs and organisations! 

We are inviting all not-for-profit clubs and organisations to sign up to the ‘Club & Volunteer Fairs’ to help promote, recruit and showcase what offerings they have in their local community. 

Kerry Recreation & Sports Partnership and Kerry Volunteer Centre have teamed up to host ‘Club & Volunteer Fairs’ over the coming months in the following locations: 

The ‘Club and Volunteer Fairs’ aim to celebrate and promote the extensive range of fantastic local community not-for-profit clubs and organisations we have in our county. 

The events will be free to attend and enable members of the public come and see what is available for them in their community and to speak and engage with the clubs and organisations directly, to find out more for themselves in a friendly, relaxed and informal setting. 

How will the Club and Volunteer Fairs help your Club? 

- Attract new members 
- Recruit new volunteers 
- Build awareness of what your club/organisation offer to the local community and surrounds

Coming up to their first A.G.M. since the Covid Pa Coming up to their first A.G.M. since the Covid Pandemic your local Business Chamber are appealing for more participation from people involved in business, in services and in employment in our town.

The A.G.M. is scheduled for Wednesday February 22nd in Benner’s Hotel commencing at 7.30pm.

We hope to follow the successful model used by other towns who operate mainly through a number of Sub-Committees specialising in specific topics such as Marketing, Promotions, Events, Retail and Developments etc. 

Fresh ideas and suggestions and involvement are vital to the success of any organisation and Dingle Business Chamber are no different in this regard.

We invite you to attend the A.G.M. and volunteer your support in joining one of the proposed Sub-Committees. Meeting times can be arranged to suit the participants work schedules (i.e. morning, evenings, lunch times, virtual etc.)
