10 February 2023Celebrating St. Patrick’s Weekend in Dingle
9 March 2023Dingle’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations kick-start at the crack of dawn at 6am when Dingle’s Fife and Drum Band take to the streets in keeping with a long tradition which is usually supported by hundreds of enthusiastic followers.
The band march from the Old Hospital, around the town, waking up young and old but also bringing a magical start to the day. The band stop at St. Mary’s Church where Mass is offered by the local parish priest. The band play various tunes during the ceremony. The morning session finishes around 7:30am at Ashmount Terrace with Amhrán na bhFiann.
The scheduled starting time for the Main St. Patrick’s Day Parade is 12.45pm from Ashmount Terrace covering the traditional route before returning via The Pier and Green Street to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital again.
We invite all clubs, groups, organisations, individuals and business interests to take part in the 2023 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dingle.
Entrants are requested to be at the starting point by 12.15pm. The parade is not alone an opportunity to showcase one’s business, individuals, clubs or groups talents to the local community but it is a great way to kick start another busy tourist season here in the Dingle Peninsula.
