The enchanting town of Dingle is gearing up for two more spectacular St Patrick’s Day Parades in 2024, following the traditional route that begins and culminates at Ashmount Terrace (Old Hospital).
Tá baile aoibhinn Dhaingean Uí Chúis ag ullmhú i gcomhair dhá pharáid mhórthaibhseach eile do Lá le Pádraig i 2024, ag leanúint an bhealaigh traidisiúnta a thosnaíonn agus a chríochnaíonn ag Cnocán na Fuinseoige (an Sean-Ospidéal).
This year, we again extend a warm invitation to individuals, groups, clubs, associations, schools, business outlets, and musical ensembles from the broader Chorca Dhuibhne Area to participate and add their vibrant colours to the celebration. Anticipate a day filled with charm and entertainment, setting the stage for what promises to be a another busy tourist season in scenic West Kerry. The Danno O’Keeffe Memorial Plaque which is currently held by Scoil An Ghleanna, Ballyhea, will be presented to the best entry in the Parade this year.
I mbliana, fearaimid fáilte chroíúl arís roimh dhaoine aonair, grúpaí, clubanna, cumainn, scoileanna, siopaí agus grúpaí ceoltóirí ó cheantar Chorca Dhuibhne a bheith páirteach agus a ndathanna bríomhara féin a chur leis an gceiliúradh. The Parade is set to commence at 12:45pm, with all participating groups requested to assemble at Ashmount Terrace by 12:30pm. This timely gathering ensures a coordinated start to the festivities which allows participants to showcase their creativity and enthusiasm to the locals and visitors who line the streets all along the route. Visitors and should expect some short traffic delays between 12 & 2pm on the day to facilitate the parade.

Members of the Southampton Fire Brigade from New York who will be in the area for a wedding celebration have expressed an interest in taking part in this year’s parade and have been invited to join in in the festivities.

Adding to the allure, the renowned Dingle Fife and Drum Band will grace the town with their performances, kickstarting St. Patrick’s Day at the early hour of 6 am. The band will march around town from Ashmount, via the pier, stopping for Mass at St. Mary’s Church at 6:45 am. This not only wakes up the young and old but also brings a magical start to the day.
