15 June 2020Kerry County Council have published plans for the proposed reopening of public realms in Dingle. This plan, which is based on the Government’s “Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business”, presumes that social distancing will remain a behavioural requirement for the foreseeable future.

Strand Street
Street Closure will be effective from Wednesday 8th July to Wednesday 2nd September 2020, from 11am to 6pm daily
12 car parking spaces to be removed from Stand Street during closure periods
6 car parking spaces opposite Strand House to remain for Residents during daily closure period
Green Street
6 car parking spaces are to be removed and bollarded off as step out areas
An extra 50 car parking spaces are to be created at a new and extended free car park beside the church and will be encouraging residents, staff, busines owners and public to use
Holyground
4 car parking spaces to be removed outside Garveys and the current loading bay to be moved to outside Garveys and the existing loading bay bollarded off as a step out area
Pier Head
5 car parking spaces to be removed from Dingle Boats Tours Booking Office to James Longs pub
‘Partlet’ Trial Unit to be trialled in this area
Priority Parking Spaces
A number of priority parking spaces to be created for customers to use for short periods outside essential shops and services around the town.
If these priority parking spaces prove successful, then consideration will be given to installing more priority parking areas around the town.
Staff & Business Owner parking
Spaces will be made available at the Mark Car Park for Staff and Business Owners this summer, with staff parking passes being proposed
Staff and Business owners on Green Street will be encouraged to park in the new 50 space car park extension beside the church
Other Designated staff parking areas will be considered at the seafront for staff & business owner parking
